CNC manufacturing is highly suitable for the large volume production required by the hand tool industry. Traditional and specially designed hand tools can be manufactured quickly and accurately using CNC machining. 

The first step in hand tool production is the die casting of molten metal to form the approximate shape and size of the tool. The casted metal is then machined to its final exact specifications. Because each tool must be machined individually, and hand tools are generally produced in large volumes, the machining process must be highly efficient and cost effective. 

CNC automates and streamlines machining processes so that large volumes of tools can be produced with low operating costs. Because all processing is automated, labor costs are almost eliminated. Grinding, cutting, milling, drilling and other machining processes are all automated, using CNC to control a range of machining tools and tool heads.
